Windows PC maker HP seems to believe that the “perfect laptop” is a laptop running macOS, at least according to an ad the company promotes on Reddit. The ad clearly shows an HP laptop with a macOS screenshot where a Photoshop job went wrong.

“For digital nomads and work from anywhere outside the home (yes, we see you), HP has the perfect laptops for wherever you work,” the ad says. The macOS screenshot shows a Gmail inbox in Chrome with the Apple logo in the menu bar.

Apple’s license agreements do not allow macOS to be run on PCs, but there is a community of Hackintosh users who unofficially install macOS on PCs. Apple allowed the System 7 operating system to be licensed to other computer vendors in the mid-1990s, but the program was discontinued by Steve Jobs when he returned to the company.

Note that on desktop, the ad only appears on the “new” Reddit.
